enter site We found this after floundering through other Minca eateries. And we went back. And back. When some very close Colombian friends joined us at Easter weekend in Minca, it was our natural choice. Rocia is a generous and excellent cook, but I won't write too much about her chocolate cake or I'll have to go back miles for more. What I liked most about the place: it's just plain friendly!
Good luck Niall and Rocia with your plans for the hotel.
Theres so much effort and creativity thats been put everything into the interior design as well as everything your eating. You also get to enjoy the sound of the river as it gently passes by.
Start here! The Manduka yoga mats - colors all abound! The healthcare system is subject to widespread criticism, with many expats opting for private healthcare. It is easy to get around and there is culture, art and museums to be found everywhere. Keynote Speakers.
So much love goes into the food. Try the special papaya salad - its a taste explosion. Rochi even tweaked some of her dishes to accomodate my allergies. Great vibe great food.
Nial and Rochi take hospitality to new heights and should be very proud of the reputation this business is attracting. I stayed at Minca on 3 separate occasions in Dec and each time I couldnt wait to return to Cocina d Rochi to eat, drink and simply loiter. In fact, I think I had lunch, afternoon tea and dinner here one day! As a vegetarian I was spoilt for choice by Rochi's home cooking.
The juices here are excellent and I can recommend the mojitos. The restaurant itself enjoys a tranquil possie beside the Minca River, where I'm glad I took the chance for a fairly private swim. Colourful decorations abound and lend the place a homely feel, as do the pets who roam the open style restaurant deck and flop at your feet see pictures.

What makes Cocina d Rochi stand out is the generosity and friendliness of owners Nial and Rochi, who were full of advice about local attractions. Rochi even tried to help me with an onward booking in Santa Marta, between courses in the kitchen. This couple are true ambassadors for their region and I wish them all the best for their new 'Irish Castle' down the road! Own or manage this property? The story follows him from a privileged upbringing in Miami to the streets of Medellin, Colombia, -providing an inside look into the neighborhoods, a rarely talked about sub-culture, and the city's violent history.
But the story is an upbeat beat one, dare I say, even a love story between a boy and a city. It is also a coming of age tale, a callous youth growing up in a rapidly changing landscape fraught with challenges and dangers, which he must overcome. Overall it was great read, I couldn't put down. It was a great travel companion on my last business trip. I highly recommend this book. By SebThis was a truly awful book. The subject itself - Benjamin Fisher creating an online cam business in Medellin - was the hook. However, it was a bait and switch, as most of the story is superficial drivel where Benjamin drives around town whining about how crazy his life has become.
There's one part that's supposed to show how "badass" Benjamin is where he tells his employee, "Don't ever question my judgment again," over his decision to not let one of the cam girls walk around in a skimpy outfit to distract other employees.
Benjamin throughout the story comes across as inauthentic, and you can't help but feel that he's a totally different person than how he portrayed himself in this book. He's either a much nicer guy or a much meaner guy.
Either way, I wanted a look at the real him and not this douchey portrayal of a superficial entrepreneur in Medellin. A Captivating StoryBy alejandro lopezThis is simply an amazing book. As a native of Medellin, Colombia, I could not help being taken back home by Fisher's vivid and captivating writing style.
